Nelson Mandela's Leadership |
|
Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. People show leadership in many ways, but mostly in your actions determine whether you are a leader or show leadership. Nelson Mandela showed leadership in South Africa and in ending the Apartheid.
Nelson Mandela led South Africa to freedom and ended the Apartheid. He lead South Africa aright to end Apartheid. He taught them to be patient, virtues, and leadership. What he taught led them to do right. He was a role model to the people. He showed courage: he stepped up and worked hard to create an end to Apartheid and segregation. He showed perseverance: no matter the results of the choices/actions he made or were made he didn't let that get in the way of him having hope for their to be an end to Apartheid in South Africa. He showed forgiveness: even all of those who cursed him and hurt him were forgiven. All those who doubted in him were forgiven. It takes courage and strength to forgive someone who hurts you. He showed humility: he never thinks of himself greater than anybody. If anybody were ruler or had power they wouldn't want to give it up. President Washington said two terms were enough, for the people then wanted him to be president again for a third term. He showed humility of thinking of himself less, so did Nelson Mandela. He did only one term and decided to let someone else be the president. Lastly, he showed progress: he knew it would take time and patience till he was heard for their to be a change in South Africa. Progress takes time but South Africa and Nelson Mandela made it to their goal/destination. These virtues showed him as a good leader. Even, he probably didn't know that he would be known all over the world for his actions.
Nelson Mandela brought the whites and blacks together. he unified them. Mandela didn't see black or white. He saw everyone as one person. A body couldn't function if it were in half/separated, same as for the nation of South Arica. He had a positive and great heart. He didn't see things as wrong. he believes every negative could become positive. Mandela was determined and committed to end the apartheid, unify the people and gain the rights and independence of his people.
